Foodbank

With over 9,000 Stockport children living in households defined as living in poverty, HGBC in conjunction with other Churches, run and operate Stockport Foodbank. Working closely with the other centres we offer 3-day emergency food parcels to those within our community who have been referred to us by Social Services or other frontline agencies.

Foodbank logoThe Foodbank is directing much needed help to families who are struggling to put food on the table. For people on low incomes, facing redundancy, coping with the affects of benefit changes and delays, or even an unexpected bill, our Foodbank provides emergency food and support to local people in crisis, helping them through their difficult times, as well as help through Citizens Advice and signposting to other support agencies.

Stockport Foodbank, which is part of the Trussell Trust, is based at 8 centres, Hazel Grove Baptist Church, St Mark’s Bredbury, St Martin's in Heaton Norris, The Bairstow Centre in Reddish, St Philips in Offerton, Trinity Church Cheadle, Tiviot Dale Church in the town centre and the Salvation Army, Cheadle Heath.

Our Foodbank at HGBC is open Mondays 12.30-2.30, Wednesdays 10.30-12.30 and Fridays 11.30-1.30. Along with the other centres in the Foodbank group, there are now one or more centres open 6 days a week - all the opening times and further information are on the Foodbank website  www.stockport.foodbank.org.uk
